About GAIA
GAIA is revolutionising the legal industry with AI that automates legal work and empowers legal professionals to work more efficiently and effectively. We're building the future of legal technology, and we are looking for a driven, versatile person to help accelerate our growth.
The Role
As we scale, we’re looking for an exceptional Product Engineer who’s passionate about experimenting with large language models (LLMs), turning ideas into working prototypes, and pushing the boundaries of how AI transforms knowledge-heavy industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Build AI-Driven Features: Work hands-on across the stack (Python backend, Vue 3 or React frontend) to develop product features and prototypes powered by LLMs.
- Experiment Rapidly with LLMs: Explore new APIs, test novel workflows, and prototype features that make legal work faster and smarter. You should be comfortable with prompt engineering and building scrappy '0→1' experiments.
- Engage with Users & Shape Product Direction: Speak directly with customers, gather feedback, and translate insights into product features. You’ll combine technical skills with product thinking to ensure we build solutions that solve real user problems.
- Collaborate with Product & Tech Leadership: Act as a sparring partner to our CTO and CEO, bringing your coding and AI expertise to help shape our product roadmap.
- Stay Ahead of AI Trends: Keep up with emerging developments in LLMs, dev tools, and applied AI—sharing insights that inform where GAIA should experiment next.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Background
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally full-stack exposure
- Proficiency in Python (core backend language).
- Brought projects to life: 2-3 projects you’ve already built with LLMs—whether internal tools, open-source work, or side projects.
- Hands-on LLM experience: integrating APIs, designing prompts, experimenting with different model setups.
- Experience in knowledge heavy industries, any experience in the legal field is a very strong plus (Legal tech, previous legal studies, etc)
- Exposure to product work: ability to communicate with users, understand needs, and help translate feedback into product decisions.
